Amity Global School hosted US University School Fair on 23rd February 2015

Amity Global School had the privilege to host US UNIVERSITY SCHOOL FAIR 2015 on Tuesday 24th February 2015, in an attempt to mentor students for future opportunities for studying in US.

Upholding the vision of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, the event was structured to provide essential guidance and direction to the imminent global citizens for their career prospects. The event was the initiative of Ms. Taruna Barthwal, Manager – Amity Career Counseling & Guidance Cell.

It was a great occasion for students to meet representatives from 15 Universities. The universities which attended the school fair with their delegates were; Adelphi University, California State University, College for Creative Studies, Colorado State University Pueblo, California State University- East Bay, Drury University, East Texas Baptist University, Full Sail University, Northern Michigan University, Oklahoma City University, Pace University, The College of Saint Rose, University of Central Florida, University of Houston and University of Central Missouri.

The university representatives were welcomed warmly in a traditional Indian way. The Principal, Ms Arti Gupta had initiated the event by giving a brief introduction to the universities and guided students to have information regarding the courses offered and the criteria for admissions. Students & parents from Grade 9, 10, and 11 were given the opportunity to have one-to-one interaction with the university representatives. Students were excited to explore the different courses provided by the universities. The parents had the privilege to attend this event which was an enlightening experience for them. For Grades 9 and 10, it was a platform which would help them to choose right combination of subjects for further studies. This opportunity was also extended to the students of AGS Noida who were interested in discovering various prospects. The students were inquisitive to know about the scholarships offered, application procedure, eligibility criteria, housing and campus life.

School counsellor’s from AIS-43 as well as AIS-46 attended this event. The representatives provided immediate responses to the students’ queries about their universities as well as TOEFL, SAT, IELTS and ACTS requirements. It was well received by the participants and was indeed a productive interaction session.
